This week, another sport will join the part in what is a busy month in the sports world as the NBA tips off. CivicScience has already explored consumer insights around sports as a whole heading into October, but where does the NBA fit in as its season begins anew? 

CivicScience tracking shows the NBA ranks third among U.S. sports fans, with 35% who follow it, trailing MLB (44%) and the NFL (59%), but ahead of the NHL (31%). While sports viewership is up overall, NBA fans are split on whether they’ll watch more or fewer games this year, with 21% expecting to watch less and 19% planning to watch more.
